BEWARE OF HIRING JOH HAIGH PLUMBING AND HEATING! We hired him to do a plumbing renovation of our master bathroom. His estimate was pretty good and slightly lower then the next plumbers estimate. We researched him on better business, verified he has a valid plumbing license with the state and found no complaints listed on websites. He arrived to remove our sink, toilet and tub/shower so the carpenters can come in and demo the wall and existing tub/shower combo. When the carpenter is done he comes back to work on our rough plumbing and the first thing he does is break our plumbing stack down into the wall of the bathroom below. Then he tells us that he is leaving to obtain parts for the job and get the plumbing permit. That was the last time we saw him. That evening the plumbing leaked and flooded out the downstairs bathroom with sewage stains all over the ceiling and walls. He did not seal off the plumbing or even tell us he broke it. Repeated calls went unanswered and he has not returned to the job site. To repair the damage done by Haigh is summed up as follows: The plumbing estimate was $1,250.00 more because of the additional damage. The contractor estimates $1,600.00 in additional wall repairs to fix the damage. The plasterer estimates an additional $400.00. The painter estimated $400.00 to repair the downstairs bathroom ceiling and walls. All total Jon Haigh did damage to the cost of $3650.00 (which is more then his original estimate to do the work). Not to mention the two weeks lost in getting a new plumber, two more weeks in pushing off the other contractor’s schedule, having sewage rain down through your house and eliminating all of the bathrooms and showers for 4 weeks. I can live with things breaking because things do break, I can understand time delays because things always take longer, I can understand things costing more money because of un-for-seen problems, but what I can not understand is why he would do all this damage, not even say a word and just disappear. The only words that come to mind when I think of this contractor is UNPROFESSIONAL, DISHONEST, UNRELIABLE… and it will cost you so much more than money!

I only gave him a 1 star because that was the lowest I could give him. It would have been a 0!
